TruPace E220 Elliptical

The TruPace E220 elliptical sells at an average retail price of $699. It is a solid elliptical trainer with 22 workout programs and 16 intensity levels with articulating foot pedals. This elliptical also has a great sound system. It’s a great machine for the price. Other ellipticals equivalent to this model in features retail for over $1000.
This particular model offers a lifetime warranty on the frame which is great considering it states that it has a 275 lb. user capacity, but in actuality can only handle 175 lbs. It’s too light of a machine for heavier users.
Overall, this is a good value for the price. If you are looking for an elliptical under $1000 that has a lot of features with a good sound system, then this is the way to go as long as you are not a heavy user. It’s meant for smaller framed individuals and will not withstand a lot of weight over time.

TruPace E200 Elliptical Trainer

The TruPace E200 elliptical is the entry model in its series and retails for only $499. It is quite compact and lightweight, but is also geared toward small users. As long as you know that it’s not meant for anyone over 250 lbs. then you are okay. Other than that, it’s a great entry level elliptical for the money.
This model has 22 programs and 16 intensity levels with a backlit LCD console and has a 90 day warranty on parts and labor. It has a lot of features that most ellipticals have as well such as the water bottle holder, built in workouts, etc. It does weigh only 116 lbs. so it is not extremely sturdy and heavier people should not use this machine.
The great thing about this elliptical is that it has a 30 day trial so if you are not satisfied with the machine, you can return it. This is a starter elliptical so you can’t expect to get everything that high-end ellipticals include, but you are getting a good machine for the price. Most other machines of this caliber retail around $800 so you are saving money with this model.
Overall, the TruPace E200 elliptical is a great buy for beginners and small users.

TruPace M150 Treadmill

Trupace M150 Treadmill

The TruPace M150 treadmill is the top model offered by TruPace Fitness and retails for $899.  It has a 350lb weight capacity with a 2.5hp motor.  This well built machine is very sturdy and can accommodate many users – small or large.  It’s a great value as far as treadmills for under $1000 as it comes with a lifetime warranty on the motor and frame with 2yrs on parts and labor as well which you only find on treadmills over $1000.  That’s definitely a bonus when it comes to treadmills.

This model has up to a 15 incline level and a large running surface of 20” x 55”. Moreover, it has 14 preset programs that are very user friendly.  What I like most is how quiet the motor is given its size as well as the sound system.  Most treadmills of this size have very loud motors.

Overall, this is a great treadmill for the price offering tons of features and extremely well built. It’s had nothing but 5 star ratings so far on quality, features, reliability and price and therefore, it is definitely a great buy for under $1000!

The TruPace M150 is the top model in its line and a bit more expensive, but if you are looking for more durability, this is the way to go while still not spending a fortune.

TruPace M120 Treadmill

TruPace-M120

The TruPace M120 is by far the best value in the TruPace line of treadmills because it offers so many features for the price. It’s priced at $699 and is comparable to other treadmills of its kind that sell for well over $1000. So far, I have only heard positive feedback about this treadmill.

This treadmill has 14 programs and an incline level up to 15. The display is easy to read as well. The TruPace does have a lifetime warranty on motor and frame and 1 year on parts and labor. It’s a little more durable than the lower TruPace M100 model as it has a weight capacity of 325 lbs rather than 225 lbs. Therefore, it can accommodate a range of users.

This 210 lb machine has a good size walking surface of 20” x 25” and a deck cushioning system for ease on the joints. Moreover, its audiosystem is iPod and MP3 compatible with two integrated speakers on the console.

As far as treadmills go, you are getting a lot for the money you are spending on this model in comparison to other treadmills. It hasn’t been out for very long so as far as reliability or performance for the TruPace line, there isn’t much to go on. They have been on the market since 2011 which is fairly new, but they seem to be a big hit for those looking to get the best value, but are on a budget.

TruPace M100 Treadmill Review

trupacem100

The TruPace M100 Treadmill is a great buy for under $500. It’s got a power incline along with lots of other features that make this a quality machine. There are a lot of quick select buttons that make it very user friendly as well. You don’t have to spend 10 minutes trying to figure out this machine before using it. To me, that is a definite bonus.

This treadmill also has 13 workouts with 12 incline levels and an integrated heart rate monitor. These are great features to have on a treadmill. However, its weight capacity is 225 lbs. It’s not made for tall or heavy people, but for the average person it’s fine. This treadmill offers a compact walking surface and therefore, designed for smaller adults.

Overall, the TruPace is a great buy for under $500 because it offers a lot of features and comes with a 5 year warranty with 90 days on parts and labor. However, it is a lightweight treadmill so it is not recommended for active runners or heavy users. If you are an average sized adult on a budget who enjoys walking on a treadmill for exercise then this is a great choice. I would highly recommend this treadmill to young adults beginning to workout and to those who are looking to walk for better health indoors.

In fact, you can burn more calories every day by doing more of what most everyone does every day and thats walking. Even light walking for an hour a day each day will burn enough calories in week equivalent to a pound of fat! Increase that intensity to a moderate walk, speed walking or jogging and you can be shedding off those pounds fast!!

]]>

Keeping this resolution is key to maintaining a healthy weight not to mention numerous other health benefits. I can hear some of you now its too cold outside to go walking or I dont have enough time in my schedule for exercise. One sure way to stay on track is to purchase your own personal treadmill. By having one in your home, you can get in your exercise without even stepping foot out of the warmth of your house. Price ranges start around $800 and go higher than most of us are willing to spend ($4,000+!) on a piece of home fitness equipment. The more expensive ones are usually geared more towards actual gyms and gyms inside of condominiums, etc. that see constant use. You can expect to find a very good quality treadmill for home use with a good warranty for somewhere right around $1,000. Don’t worry, most of them offer free shipping so you won’t get beaten over the head for that…these things are HEAVY!! Have time constraints? No problem! There is medical evidence supporting the claim that you can significantly reduce your risk of heart disease by walking just 30 minutes a day. And it doesn’t matter how old you are, either. You can start walking at age 20, age 40, age 60, age 80! The point is, just GET MOVING! The benefits are the same no matter your age. Walking helps reduce your blood pressure, helps with weight control, especially around the mid-body region (or the “spare tire syndrome”), preventing common colds, and even giving your mind a spiritual break that your entire body can benefit from. I’m sure if you really think about it, you can find 30 minutes in your busy day where you can walk on a treadmill. Do you read the morning paper? Read it while you walk! Do you watch the news every morning? Watch TV while you walk! Let’s get moving, people! You can start 2008 off right by making an investment in yourself and your health. With a little initial determination, persistence and consistency exercising on your treadmill can become a part of your daily routine!!! Just remember to stick with your program and use your treadmill for getting your daily exercise and NOT a place to hang your laundry!

A Buyer’s Guide to Treadmills

]]>

Dont lie: what on earth wouldnt you rather talk about than a treadmill? Just its name seems to make you think of years of pain and sacrifice at some forced labor camp, doesnt it? Although using a treadmill may seem like pure torture, this piece of fitness equipment remains the most used in peoples homes and a great way to keep in shape.

]]>

A treadmill is a piece of home fitness equipment that you can use indoors to simulate walking. What? It is just a machine that you can walk on within the comfort of your own home while getting a great workout in the process. It is a fixture in any fitness center and available in a wide variety of styles, prices, and sizes.

Click here for our treadmill reviews of the most popular brands

Any treadmill has several advantages like being simple to operate and easy to stick with using. Any piece of exercise equipment is completely useless unless you actually use it and that is why the treadmill is such a powerful tool in your workout routine. Treadmills are also great for cardiovascular exercise and offer people year round use which can be a particular benefit during lousy weather. Now it is also true that a lot of people buy a treadmill with the best of intentions but fail to truly capitalize on the benefits offered by using this piece of home fitness equipment. Although it is easy to stick with, a treadmill can tend to be a little boring. I mean, well, you are in fact walking in place while the scenery remains the same. Boredom is cited time and again as the main reason why people cease using their treadmill. The other big reason given for ceasing to use a treadmill is due to its size and awkwardness. However, when everything is considered, treadmills are a great investment for your fitness dollar. Besides, you can always watch television while using the treadmill and still get a great workout and any piece of personal fitness equipment will be bulky and take up space.

If you are thinking about purchasing a treadmill, here are some things to look for:

Price There are three basic price ranges in treadmills: lower-end treadmills ranging from $500-1500; midrange, $1500-3000, and top of the line ones exceed $3000 apiece.

Motor The motor is definitely the most expensive part of any treadmill. You want to make sure that the treadmill includes a continuous duty rating because that is the only figure that is really useful for assessing the quality of the motor. If that motor does not have a continuous duty rating of at least 1.5 hp, do not even bother because that treadmill was not meant to last–so save your cash!

Deck Size/Programs When considering a treadmill, you also want to check the dimensions of the belt to make sure it is big enough to give you room to walk and run in stride. An awkward stride can actually lead to injuries. You also want to look at the treadmill for a listing of options such as pre-programmed workout routines that vary the pace and incline. Boredom can kill your motivation to keep in shape, so the more options, the more likely you are to continue using your treadmill! Things like pulse monitors and water holders are nice, but definitely not critical components that will make it more or less likely for you to workout.

Overall Construction In the end, you are going to have to do a once-over of the machine to check it out thoroughly. You want to check out the rails and make sure they are sturdy because they are going to go through a lot of use and you dont want them giving out on you. Another thing that you really should know about a treadmill is just how smooth the machine actually is during use. So do not be afraid to get on and use it for a few minutes to make sure that it wont shake your internal organs all up when using the treadmill. A smoother unit makes it all the more likely that you will stick with your workout routine!

Finally, after you have determined that the machine is within your budget and is built to last, you are going to have to decide whether or not it will actually fit in your home! Hey, these are not small machines! You have to dedicate a sizeable portion of your home for a treadmill so be sure you can commit to that before laying down the greenbacks. Treadmills are a great way to keep your cardiovascular system in pristine condition but only if you use it so check into every aspect of the purchase before buying. Then, when you find a machine you love, just use it!

Treadmills vs Elliptical Trainers: Which One Is Better?

13496747_s

Two of the most popular pieces of exercise equipment on the market are the treadmill and the elliptical trainer. While treadmills are still the #1 exercise equipment on the market, elliptical trainers are gaining ground quickly, and the quality of elliptical trainers has come a long way in a short period of time.

When comparing treadmills vs elliptical trainers, one of the most striking differences is how impact free the elliptical trainer is compared to the treadmill. The elliptical trainer provides no impact on the ground; therefore the joints in the lower body do not suffer the strains that often occur with running or walking on a treadmill. On the other hand, the serious runner or jogger may prefer the superior workout experience provided by a treadmill. When comparing treadmills vs elliptical trainers it is important to take their intended use into account. Those training for a marathon or similar event will most likely prefer the more realistic running experience only a quality treadmill can provide.

If simulating running or walking isn’t that important to you, an elliptical trainer provides an excellent cardiovascular workout with a great amount of efficiency. An elliptical trainer with dual action handlebars is able to provide a total body workout, while the treadmill focuses on working the lower body primarily (although you can work the upper body some on a treadmill if you carry weights and swing your arms while walking). In addition, according to the results of several recent studies, users of elliptical trainers were able to burn roughly the same amount of calories as treadmill users with the impression of using considerably less effort. This perception of a more effortless workout is probably due to the low impact nature of elliptical trainers. This is one of the reasons why elliptical trainers have been so popular with the elderly and those with knee problems, and why many physical trainers prefer to use elliptical trainers in their rehabilitation practices. In the fight of treadmills vs elliptical trainers, the newer elliptical trainers definitely have a number of important advantages. When comparing treadmills vs elliptical trainers, it is important to look at the variety of workouts they provide.

With a treadmill, the main variety comes with changing the incline and speeding up or slowing down the speed of the workout. With an elliptical trainer, not only can the incline and intensity be adjusted but the dual action handlebars can add variety to the upper body workout as well. Another advantage of elliptical trainers is that the foot pedals feature forward and reverse motion. When in forward motion, the elliptical trainer can accurately simulate cross country skiing, but when the motion is reversed an entirely different lower body workout can be achieved. This reverse motion helps to target the quadriceps muscles, something that is difficult to achieve on a treadmill or other exercise machines. One area to be aware of when comparing treadmills vs elliptical trainers is the price. While the price of a quality treadmill ranges in price from $1,000 to $2,000 – the same quality elliptical trainer can be found in the $600 to $1,400 price range. Not only are elliptical trainers generally less expensive than treadmills, studies have found no significant difference in the quality of workout provided by elliptical trainers of vastly different prices. One recent study by the University of Mississippi tested four elliptical trainers, ranging in price from $200 to $600. All four machines were surprisingly similar at providing a quality workout, and all four provided a challenging yet comfortable workout to study participants. The workout provided was equal in intensity to running an 11 minute mile!

So while treadmills have been all the rage for quite some time, elliptical trainers certainly have their advantages and are giving the treadmill a run for its money. The bottom line is, both of these machines provide superb cardiovascular workouts and in the final analysis of comparing treadmills vs elliptical trainers, it really comes down to personal preference. You wont go wrong with either machine so pick one that provides the most comfortable workout for you!
