From the time that I can remember him, my uncle Tom was always a food lover. As long as I could recollect, he was always my fat uncle. Aunt Matilda, his wife, was always trying to make him stop his bad eating style, but she was in no way successful. In fact, Matilda would always cook healthy foods for him, like soups and meals which are based on vegetables, while seeking to eliminate any foods that are classified as high in fats. Desserts rarely formed part of the menu as aunt Matilda tried to manage her husband’s bad eating styles.
Alas, uncle Tom has a sweet tooth and in his opinion a meal without dessert just isn’t a complete one. This is why Tom took the regular habit of visiting a shop to acquire every one of the stuff that may be “missing”, that is cakes, biscuits, sweets and so forth. As per my auntie, her husband has the bad habit of eating a packet of biscuits in a single go. While Matilda could somewhat restrain her husband from over eating while he was in her company, she could do nothing at all while her husband was at the office.
My uncle never listened to his doctor’s advice to limit his food intake. Whenever someone told him he should eat better and less for his own good, my uncle used to say that we only live once. Tom’s children (my cousins) also love sweets. Since childhood they got familiar to their father’s love for sweets, so this is expected.
Unfortunately 2-3 weeks back uncle Tom had a blood test and results showed he has type 2 diabetes. Initially uncle Tom couldn’t believe his doctor but he got astonished and amazed when he realized that it hadn’t been a joke.
The doctor told my uncle he really need to get hold of a glucose meter or to register for getting a free glucose meter through the web. The doctor told my uncle that it’s now more essential than in the past to go on a diet and to limit on the intake of sugar or any type of food or drink that has lots of sugar content.
My uncle is still shocked by the words of the doctor. His appetite for sweets has waned, but so is his desire to be joyful and cheerful. He still ought to obtain a glucose meter, so I decided i would help him with this one.
I Googled on the expression “glucose meters” and surfed to a site that allows you to register for a 100% free glucose meter. While seeking around over the internet I came to be aware that glucose meters also pass the name of glucometers.
I completed the form by using the details of uncle Tom and submitted the form to get the free glucometer. Okay, uncle Tom could have successfully signed up himself for a zero cost glucose meter, but yet I am merely doing this to help out.
I hope it won’t take very long for my uncle to receive the free glucometer.
